Organisation Awards
A Regeneration consultancy of the year
Awarded to the entrant that can best demonstrate a significant contribution to effective regeneration in one or more places in the specified period. Entrants must demonstrate not only that they were involved in effective regeneration projects, but also explain how their organisation was integral to securing those positive results. All professional advisers working in the regeneration sector, whether specialising in community development, economic development, planning, property, engineering, environmental, architectural or other related disciplines, are eligible.
B Regeneration partnership of the year
Awarded to the entrant that can demonstrate the most effective regeneration impact in the specified period. To be eligible, partnerships must involve organisations from two or more of the following sectors: public, private and voluntary/community. The judges will particularly be looking for evidence of strong partnership working, with a significant proportion of the members of the partnership making a contribution to success.
C Public sector regeneration agency of the year
Awarded to the entrant that can demonstrate the most effective regeneration impact in the specified period. All public sector agencies involved in the regeneration sector, including local authorities, are eligible to enter.
D Community-led organisation of the year
Awarded to the entrant that can best demonstrate effective regeneration impact in the specified period. Entry is restricted to voluntary and community sector organisations, such as development trusts, social enterprises, community empowerment networks, New Deal for Communities partnerships and others. The judges will want to see clear evidence of how the local community is represented in the governance of the organisation, as well as evidence of the impact of the scheme.
E Developer of the year
Awarded to the entrant that can best demonstrate effective regeneration impact from mixed use, commercial or industrial development in the specified period. Judges will be looking for clear evidence that the work being cited in the entry has delivered social and economic goals, as well as meeting high environmental and design standards.
F Housing deliverer of the year
Awarded to the entrant that can best demonstrate effective regeneration impact in the specified period. Entries are invited from both housing associations and private sector housebuilders that have either completed significant housing developments during the past year, or who have operated outstanding community development, social or economic-based projects during the specified period. Judges will be looking for clear evidence that the work being cited in the entry has delivered social and economic goals, as well as meeting high environmental and design standards.
G Award for regeneration skills development
Awarded to the organisation that can best demonstrate development of its workforce's regeneration skills during the specified period, whether through internal or external training.
H Award for tackling worklessness
awarded to the organisation that has been most effective at helping people who were previously unemployed or on incapacity benefit back into work.
I Award for boosting productivity
Awarded to the organisation that has done most to improve a deprived area's productivity performance, whether by fostering high productivity indigenous businesses, nurturing start-ups, attracting inward investment, developing the local skills base or other methods.
Scheme Awards
J Award for the best-designed regeneration development
Awarded to the entry that can most clearly demonstrate social, economic or environmental benefits attributable to its design.
To be eligible, a significant part of the development must be complete and either occupied or ready for occupation.
K Award for the best use of planning in regeneration
Awarded to the entry that demonstrates the greatest positive social, economic and environmental impact that can be attributed to the use of professional planning skills.
L Environmentally sustainable regeneration scheme of the year
Awarded to the regeneration scheme that most clearly demonstrates the probability of a long-term positive environmental impact. Entries may be physical, economic or social regeneration schemes.
M Social regeneration project of the year
Awarded to the entry that has made the most marked improvement to social conditions in a deprived community or communities, whether through action on a single issue (such as community safety, health, education, community cohesion or others) or multiple issues. All relevant projects that were operating in the specified period are eligible.
N Mixed-use project of the year
Awarded to the mixed use scheme that most clearly demonstrates the probability of long-term social, economic and environmental benefits. To be eligible, a significant part of the development must be complete and either occupied or ready for occupation. The entry needs to make clear how the planned scheme divides up between its different components (e.g. retail, housing, commercial, industrial, leisure) and the scale of each component (including the number of homes). It also needs to show how the completed part of the project breaks down in terms of uses.
O Housing-led project of the year
Awarded to the entry that most clearly demonstrates the probability of social, economic or environmental benefit. To be eligible, a significant part of the development must be complete and either occupied or ready for occupation. The entry needs to make clear how many housing units it is planned to provide, and the planned mix of tenures. It also needs to make clear how many homes have been completed, and how these break down in terms of tenure.
P Heritage-led project of the year
Awarded to the entry that most clearly demonstrates the probability of social, economic and environmental benefit. To be eligible, a scheme must either involve the conservation/ preservation of historic buildings or a wider area, or in other ways capitalise on a place's or community's history.
Q Neighbourhood renewal project of the year
Awarded to the entry that most clearly demonstrates the probability of social, economic or environmental benefit. To be eligible, a scheme must be clearly focused on a single area which is small enough to be reasonably described as a neighbourhood. Judges will require evidence of involvement of local people in leadership of the project.
Individual Awards
R Award for leadership in regeneration
Awarded to the individual whose leadership has done most to ensure effective regeneration, either in a particular place or over a wider area, in the eligibility period. The judges will be looking for clear evidence of the impact of this individual's work, including evidence of the role his or her leadership played in helping to deliver these objectives.
S Award for volunteering in regeneration
Awarded to the individual who has made the most notable regenerative impact on a deprived community or communities in the eligibility period.
T Award for lifetime achievement
Nominations for this award will be considered alongside nominations made by the judging panel. The judges will be seeking to identify an individual whose career has had an outstanding regenerative impact on a deprived community or communities.
