How to enter

Please note that you will need to complete the whole online entry process from start to finish. You will recieve an email to confirm that you have successfully registered and entered the Event Awards 2008. For entry fees and detailed entry information see below.
Page one: Fill in your registration details. If you wish to receive an invoice, please have a Purchase Order No. ready before you start the submission process. If you do not wish to recieve an invoice insert 'n/a' in the correct field.
Page two: Fill in your entry details and upload your entry. There is up to 1MB space to upload your entry and supporting material. If you wish to add supporting material (over 1MB) please send it via post (preferably on a CD / DVD support) to Lucy McLaughlin, Event Awards 2008, Haymarket Events, 174 Hammersmith Road, London W6 7JP.
Page three: Choose the categories you wish to enter. You may choose to enter more than one category, entry fees will be totalled on the payment page. You can also review the category criteria at this point.
Page four: List of categories entered and option to amend or add an existing entry.
Page Five: Breakdown of entry fees and payment options. Please click 'PROCEED' to complete the registration and entry process. An email will be automatically sent to your email address to confirm that your registration and entry has been processed successfully.

Adding or amending an existing entry
If you wish to add another entry to an existing booking, please click on "amend an existing entry". Please have your email address and password ready. You will come to a page that has your details displayed, click on the "edit" button on the bottom left hand side of the page (under the payment option) and you will be able to amend or add and entry.
Who should enter?
Entries are invited from the full range of face to face industry sectors - exhibition organisers, in-house event teams, advertising, public relations, other marketing services agencies, production companies, stand designers, venues, contractors and anyone else that can prove effectiveness in one of the category disciplines. The same campaign may be submitted into more than one category or both the exhibition and live event sections of the awards if it is considered suitable.
Eligibility period is 1 January 2007 to 30 April 2008.
Projects previously entered into the Event Awards 2007 may be submitted for this year's Awards, provided it can be evidenced that further improvements to business performance have been achieved since 1 January 2007.
Your Written Submission
Your submission should include the four headings, on no more than two separate sheets, maximum 500 words - providing any necessary visual or textual evidence to support your claims. For ten top tips on how to put your entry together please download the PDF at the bottom of this page. Please also look at the category descriptions/criteria under the categories page.
• The brief - what was the nature of the task?
• Objective - what was your exhibition or live event activity designed to achieve?
• Solution - what answer to the brief did you devise?
• Results - what was the actual outcome of your exhibition or live event activity?
Support Material
Please upload 4 images, min 300dpi at A5 size, that may be used in the book of the night and in the evenings audio visual, should your entry be shortlist. This will also be useful to the judges. Please also upload any support material with your entry and make clear any special instructions that will help the judges access internet sites.
Entry Fee
- £ 140.00 each, plus VAT at 17.5% (£ 146.87 including VAT)
- please note that there are reduced fees for members of the following associations wishing to enter the Event Awards: AEO, ISES, Eventia, IVCA, EVA, BECA, NOEA and AEV. The reduced fee will be £ 125.00 plus VAT
- charities may enter their projects for £ 90.00 plus VAT
The entry fees are used to make a contribution to the cost of storing entries securely, processing, collating, assembling folders, distributing folders to judges, hosting the judging day and all necessary on site staffing and technical costs.
Closing Date
Closing date for entries is Friday 30 May 2008.
Entries may be withdrawn before Friday 27 June 2008, but no entry fees are refundable.
Entries/support material will not be returned, but collection may be arranged by applying to the event manager at the time of entry. Please note that entries for which collection has not been arranged will be securely disposed of 10 working days after the Awards ceremony.
