UK Packaging Awards 2008

Entry Deadline 30 May 2008

Why should I enter? The UK Packaging Awards are judged by an independent panel boasting some of the industry's leading names, lending credibility and kudos to a win or commendation. The awards are organised by Packaging News, the UK packaging industry's leading publication and part of Haymarket Media Group, which has years of experience in running prestigious industry awards schemes.

What makes these awards so special? We measure consistency as well as one-off quality of output. The UK Packaging Awards also value and recognise qualities like financial performance, business strategy and sustainability, as well as production excellence.

Who can win? There is a category for everyone: from corrugated to flexible, design to packaging technology. There are two types of Award: the 'Quality' Awards judge the quality of output from different sectors, such as labelling, metal packaging and glass packaging. The 'Performance' Awards judge companies on a wider range of criteria, including financial performance.
All entries to the Quality categories must have been produced in the UK in the year from 1 May 2007 to 30 April 2008. UK businesses owned by companies based overseas can enter. Entrants in the Performance categories must be companies operating in the UK, with either UK or overseas owners.

How do the Awards work? There are 19 categories in total and you can enter as many as you wish. Once you've filled in the entry form, and put together all accompanying information required, the entry should be sent to the Awards office where it is classified, checked and cross referenced. It is then judged at a meeting of the judges in London and a list of shortlisted companies will be published in Packaging News in August/September 2008.

When should I enter? All entries must be in by 30 May 2008.

How much does it cost? Primary entry £140 + VAT (£164.50, thereafter additional entries will be charged at £80 + VAT. Cheques should be made payable to the UK Packaging Awards.

Who judges the entries? Packaging News uses experts from across the industry as judges. The panel is split to allow each judge to concentrate on categories within his or her chosen field of packaging expertise. The Performance Awards are judged separately.
