Entry Criteria


Every entry must fulfil the following criteria:


1) It must advance environmental sustainability


2) It must be outstanding in terms of efforts made and results achieved


3) Benefits must be substantive, measurable and quantified


4) Activities must represent a degree of originality or innovation


5) It must be rigorous, with evidence of serious implementation


6) Activities entered can be defined projects or ongoing organisation-wide initiatives. Either way there must be elements of continuity

 

7) For the 2008 Awards activities or achievements entered should relate primarily to the period April 2007 to April 2008

 

8) Entries can be from companies (including SMEs), divisions, departments or business units.

To enter you must complete the online entry form using the registration link above, but you may find it easier to complete your entry on your desktop and then cut and paste your answers onto the online form.

1) Describe your company, division, department or business unit, e.g. mission, activity, scale, employees, turnover.

 

2) Describe the project, initiative, efforts or activities you are submitting for entry, including information on management, staff and financial resources.

 

3) What have you achieved environmentally and in other ways, for your own organisation or for external stakeholders, e.g. financially, brand awareness, conflict resolution? Be as specific as you can.

 

4) What obstacles or challenges have you faced and how have they been overcome?

 

5) How do you plan to build on or extend your efforts in future?

 

6) Summing up, why do you think your entry deserves to win a Green Business Award?

 

7) For discovery only: has your organisation had any legal infringements or insurance claims that could be relevant to your entry within the last five years? Relating e.g. to non-compliance with environmental legislation.


You may submit entries in any number of appropriate categories and submit multiple entries into one category. 

 

Please note you MUST continue to the payment page when you have finished uploading your entry otherwise your entry will not save, even if you wish to return at a later stage to upload more entries.

 

 

Support material

You are able to upload additional supporting material in the form of research and evaluation findings, explanatory papers from other sources, photographs, maps, plans, drawings, etc. however please note there is a maximum file upload size of 5 MB per entry.

 

If you are unable to upload the images/support material please put them onto a disc or print and send it clearly labelled to Alessandra Zorzato, Green Business Awards, 174 Hammersmith Road, London W6 7JP.

 

Support material will not be kept for collection unless clearly requested at the time of entry. All other material will be securely destroyed following the 2008 Awards

 

It is understood that in some cases entries may include commercially sensitive information. Haymarket Media reserves the right to publish descriptions and case studies of winning entries, but if an entrant asks for any part of their submission to remain confidential, it will be treated as such.

 

How much does it cost to enter?
 

Micro Organisations (up to 10 employees) £50.00 + VAT per entry

 

SMEs (up to 250 employees) £100.00 + VAT

 

Organisations over 250 employess £150.00 + VAT per entry

Any cheques covering the entry fee must be made payable to the Green Business Awards. No fees are refundable.

 

General Information

Please note that entries should be made for a relevant specific category. The Overall Awards can be entered only if at least one other entry has been in made in the specific categories.

 

Sponsor companies are not allowed to enter the category they have agreed to sponsor.

 

The decisions of the judges are independent and final and no correspondence will be entered into concerning the results.

 

The judges have the right to move entries between categories if they feel they have been entered into less appropriate categories.
