The Horticulture Week Landscape & Amenity Awards 2008

How to Enter

 

Garden and landscape designers and their suppliers, grounds maintenance, arboriculture and landscaping businesses, parks teams and professional gardeners - indeed anyone involved in the procurement, design, installation, or maintenance of green space and related facilities is welcome to enter the Awards for work carried out between 1 December 2006 and 31 May 2008*.

 

To enter you will need to:

  • Download an entry form from the link at the bottom of this page
  • Fill in the entry form
  • Provide ten copies of your entry summary (see 'how to write your entry summary' below) outlining the nature of your achievement and the reasons why you should be considered for an Award
  •  Provide six good quality photographs (min 300 dpi) or other pictorial evidence of your work
  • Provide one copy of other relevant supporting material - financial data, testimonials, brochures etc
  • Include your payment for the entry (see entry fee information)
  • Send in your entry by the closing date: Thursday 12 June 2008
     

 

Please note that projects entered in the Horticulture Week Landscape &

Amenity Awards 2007 cannot be entered in the Horticulture Week Landscape

& Amenity Awards 2008, unless there has been a fundamental change to the

project, or if the success of the project is now fully evaluated.


 

How to write your entry summary


The entry summary is your opportunity to explain what it is that you have achieved. Your summary, which should be no more than 600 words, should include the following:

1 What your goals were
2 What you did to achieve those goals
3 What you achieved
(i.e. the results of your work, project or enterprise)


• If you are entering a project**, this section should highlight the elements of the project which you believe are outstanding, e.g. design, use of materials, technical prowess,community/client liaison, financial management etc.

• For all other categories your description of what you achieved should highlight both particular successes within the eligibility period as well as qualities possessed by the service, team, operation or individual which you believe are outstanding.

 

**All project based entries must include the budget for the project and

timescale.

 

Entry fees


Entry fee: £58.75 (£50 + VAT) per entry. Entries in the categories for which a nomination is requested are free of charge.


Late entry penalty: £29.37 (£25 + VAT) per late entry in addition to the entry fee. This surcharge will only apply if entries are submitted late, without the Event Manager having been informed in advance.


Cheques should be made payable to: HW Landscape & Amenity Awards 2008. One cheque is acceptable for multiple entries.


The entry fee covers the cost of processing and storage of entries, distribution of compiled entry packs to judges, hosting of the judging day, and relevant judges' expenses, including site visits as appropriate. Entries may be withdrawn at any point up to 12 July 2008 upon written request, however entry fees are non-refundable.

Collection of work
Entries will not be returned. If an entry includes a valuable or unique item of support material it may be collected within 10 days of the Awards ceremony. The need to collect an item must be confirmed in writing at the time of entry.
